CLEVELAND/BRADLEY COUNTY, TN

Cleveland/Bradley County is a place where history, antiques, shopping and entertainment come together in a small-town atmosphere. We are located 25 miles east of Nashville. Join us in the heart of Tennessee for a little Wilson County hospitality.

Here you'll find glorious mountain scenery, heart-pounding whitewater rapids on the Ocoee River, rich Cherokee heritage and the charming historic downtown of Cleveland, Tennessee. Just 25 miles north of Chattanooga in the heart of the Ocoee Region, you can enjoy our rivers, walk our trails and visit our shops! The premier whitewater river of the Southeast beckons sports enthusiasts and spectators alike to its shores. Daredevil rafters can test their athletic prowess on the Ocoee’s Class III and IV rapids.

Nearby is the Hiwassee River, Tennessee’s first designated state scenic river, offering tranquility for canoeists, fishermen, hikers and nature photographers. Or launch your boat and pull the skiers across the surface. For the less adventuresome, set out on a historic hike, ride a bike, enjoy a native garden or watch a race. Other attractions—from dirt-track racing and climbing walls to traditional music and horse shows—offer activities for all preferences.

Indian lore and legend come to life at Red Clay State Historical Park, the sacred home of the Cherokee Council Grounds. At least once a year, the Cherokees “come home” with singing and dancing, storytellers spinning yarns and artisans selling their wares. Cleveland's historic downtown allows you to experience our unique history. A self-guided walking tour takes you from the oldest bank in Cleveland, past a pre-1900 restaurant and beyond a Gothic Revival church rich in local lore. The accommodations nestled in the woods and along the highways of Southeast Tennessee ensure you an affordable and unforgettable getaway. And if you prefer a rustic hideaway, check out area campgrounds, too.

Whatever your taste in recreation and leisure, we’ve got something for you set against a backdrop of spectacular scenery. And once you’ve experienced our Southern hospitality, you’ll be sure to make this destination a place to visit.
