Sauk Centre is located at the crossroads of I 94 and Highways 71 and 28, right in the center of Minnesota.

Sauk Centre has activities for all ages!

Fishing enthusiasts – Big Sauk Lake is a dynamite lake for anglers.  It is the areas largest lake running for 10 miles north of town.  The Fairy Lake chain is located four and a half miles northwest of town and is a popular spot for water sports. Guernsey Lake chain is another hot spot for anglers and is located 6 miles north.

Lake Wobegon Trail runs through Sauk Centre and connects to over 46 miles of trails.  To the west you connect to the Central Lakes Trails and together they provide 126 miles of uninterrupted trail.

Racing enthusiast can enjoy Saturday night races at the local I 94 Race track. 

Golfers are welcome to enjoy the three excellent courses available.  They include the GreyStone National Golf Course designed by PGA professional Tom Lehman and is an 18 hole British style course.  The Lynx National Golf Course is and 18 hole links-style course and was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new courses in America.  The Sauk Centre Country Club is Sauk Centre’s oldest course having been established in 1921. It is a 9 hole picturesque course that is open to the public.

One of our biggest attractions is the Main Street Theatre and the theatre’s marquee.  The theatre has six screens showing films every night and Sunday matinees.

Sauk Centre also offers an 8 lane bowling alley, frisbee golfing at Fairy Lake, skateboarding park and playground at the Sinclair Lewis Park located in downtown.

Sauk Centre offers a wide variety of dining options from fast food, coffee shops, family restaurants and fine dining. 

If you are looking for lodging, Sauk Centre offers 5 hotels/motels, several resorts and a campground located at the Sinclair Lewis Park in downtown Sauk Centre.

Sauk Centre’s summer celebration, Sinclair Lewis Days, is held the third week end in July.  It includes a pageant, parade, sidewalk sales, craft sales, dancing and fireworks.  You can check out the calendar of events at www.saukcentrechamber.com  or www.visitsaukcentre.com.


The Stearns County fair is held each year in Sauk Centre.  The fairgrounds also plays host to horse shows most weekends through out the summer. 

Sauk Centre is the birthplace of Sinclair Lewis, the first American to win the Noble Prize for literature.  A museum dedicated to Sinclair Lewis and Sauk Centre is located at the Interpretive Center.  His boyhood home is open during the summer to visitors.
