Among the course’s remarkable holes, three deserve special mention. The 446-yard 2nd is a superb dogleg right that begins at a wooded tee box and bends around trees into a heavily guarded green. Players tee off into a prevailing easterly wind and work to craft a shot that clears the dogleg without ending up in the creek that wanders through the trees along the right side of fairway. The 192-yard, par three 12th is a daunting jewel that requires a carry over water, but offers multiple sets of tee boxes that allow you to choose from among a variety of captivating setups. And as your round comes to a close, the legendary 767-yard, par 6 finishing hole unfolds over a half-mile of beautifully manicured turf to offer a final test of your skills. Perhaps the most indelible impression made by Farmstead’s famous 18th is the fact that you tee off in South Carolina and putt out in North Carolina.
Farmstead’s delightful blend of playability and challenge is like few other golf courses along the Brunswick Islands. Measuring 7,242 yards from the tips, it can challenge even the biggest hitters, but a slope of 135 makes a good score accessible for players of all levels.
 Like its sister course Meadowlands, Farmstead presents players with five sets of tee boxes.
