LA MALBAIE, QC
The town of La Malbaie was founded on 18 March 1896. Special superintendent Simon Cimon was tasked with taking the first survey of the built-up territory. It was at that time that an area of approximately 783 acres was removed from the territory of the municipality of Saint-Étienne de La Malbaie. To be established as a town, the requirement was at least 40 inhabited houses and a total area of no more than 60 acres.
